経結膜的眼窩脂肪移動術は顔面骨折などの治療方法を応用したもので、瞼の裏側に小さな穴を開け、そこから治療器具を挿入して操作を行ないます。そのため皮膚を切開する必要がなく、傷跡が残らないというメリットもあります。もちろん細かい神経や血管を傷つけないように、細心の注意を払いながら手術しなければなりません。たとえ無傷で手術を終えても、クマが取れるかどうかは別問題です。下手な位置に移動すると、かえってクマが目立ってしまうこともあります。このあたりは医師の経験と勘が物を言います。
