Qスイッチ・ルビ―レーザーはアザやシミに対して有効なレーザーで、顔や首筋にあるものをレーザーによって消去することがきます。
このQスイッチ・ルビ―レーザーは694nmの波長の光を使用しており、色でいうと赤色になります。この波長の光は皮膚組織にあるメラニンに対して有効だということが分かっています。メラニンはこの波長の光に対して吸収率が高く、照射されるとダメージを受けてなくなってしまいます。それに対し通常の健康な細胞はこの波長の光を吸収することが少ないので、ほとんどダメージを受けることがありません。そのため正常な細胞を痛めつけるリスクを受けることがなく、比較的安全にシミやアザを消すことができます。

患部が赤いうちやかさぶたができているうちは、目立ってしまうのであまり人に会いたくないという人もいます。このようなリスクがあることを理解してから手術を受けることをお勧めします。
