PRP療法は、皮膚再生療法のひとつです。この治療法の仕組みとしては、自己の血液を原料として血小板を抽出し、それによって多血小板血漿を作り出して、再生を促したい気になる部位に注入するというものです。血小板の働きとしては、傷口を治療するといったものがあり、細胞の再生を促すというものです。このため注入することで、皮膚の再生が行われしわやたるみといったものを改善することができます。
このためPRP療法は美容整形の分野では、しわやたるみを改善するために使われています。
特にPRP療法のメリットとしては、自己の血液を原料としているためアレルギー反応が出ないということがあります。またすべての治療を注射で行うことができるので、ダウンタイムがほとんど必要ないこともあります。注射で行なわれる美容整形術としては、ヒアルロン酸注射やコラーゲン注入がありますが、こちらは異物を注入するためアレルギー反応が出るリスクがあります。
思ったような効果を得られないリスク
PRP療法のメリットは、自己の血液を原料としておりアレルギー反応が出ないということがあります。その一方で自己の血液を原料としているため、その人の体調や体質によって効果が左右されるということがあります。このため思ったような効果を得られないリスクがあります。
このためPRP療法では、多血小板血漿に成長因子の薬剤を添加したものもあります。この場合には効果は安定していますが、ヒアルロン酸注射と同様に体内に異物を注入するため、アレルギー反応が出るリスクがあります。特に成長因子を添加したものの場合には、細胞の再生が進み過ぎることで膨らみすぎてしまったりしこりが残るといった可能性があります。
いずれにしても血液から血小板を抽出する方法は同じですが、その濃度や成長因子の添加といったものは医師やクリニックによって変わってきます。このためPRP療法を受けるさいには事前のカウンセリングや実際の効果といったものを十分に説明してくれる医師を選ぶ必要があります。
