ミントリフトはフェイスラインのリフトアップ施術の一つです。頬から顎のラインにかけて有効な施術で、メスを使用せずに糸の挿入によりリフトアップすることができます。

このようにリフトアップ以外にもメリットのあるミントリフトですが、どんな整形方法にもデメリットがあるようにこの施術にももちろんあります。では、ミントリフトのデメリットにはどのようなものがあるのでしょうか。
症例によっては効果の長続きは期待できません
まず、ミントリフトに使用する糸は溶ける糸を使用しているため、糸が吸収されてしまうとリフトアップ効果も弱まります。体内に残る心配がない代わりに、効果の長続きは期待できません。
個人差がありますが、大抵、1年ほどで溶けてなくなってしまいます。糸の周りにコラーゲンが生成され、弾力があるのですぐにたるむということはありませんが、次第にたるんできます。また、強度の高い糸を挿入することにより強い引きつり感が出る可能性もあります。そして、挿入した糸が吸収される前に切れてしまう可能性があります。
すると途切れた箇所にえくぼのような凹凸が出てしまう場合もあります。そのような凹凸は糸の吸収により次第になくなりますが、気になる場合は受けたクリニックに相談する必要があります。

ミントリフトには、ひきつれ・笑顔が不自然になるなどのデメリットが生じるケースがあります。これは、糸を挿入する箇所と引き上げたい部分のバランスが悪いことで起こります。
顔の中でも特に皮膚が薄い目元、額の施術では、何もしていない状態でもつっぱったような感覚を感じます。また、ひどいケースだと、笑うと筋肉が思いっきり引っ張られて痛みを感じたり、頭痛を誘発することもあります。なので、信頼できる医師を見つける事が大事です。
たるみが後戻りを起こす症例も
ミントリフトには、効果が持続しないというデメリットがあります。皮膚を切開してたるみを引き上げる施術なら半永久的な効果が得られますが、糸を使った施術では少しずつたるみが元通りになってしまいます。
そのため、最長でも施術を受けて2、3年のリフトアップ効果が限度となります。つまり、糸を使うタイプの美容手術では、永久的な効果を得るためには数年に一度施術を受け直す必要があります。

ミントリフトを受けると、肌から糸が透けて見えるデメリットもあります。通常、ミントリフトに使用される糸は、施術を受けて時間が経つと体内で吸収される仕組みになっています。ただ完全になくなるまでは１年くらいかかるので、不安定な糸を使用していると肌の表面から透けて見えることがあるのです。
糸が透けて見えると、皮膚の表面が不均一でおかしく見えたり、引き上げた部分の肌に筋が通ったような模様ができてしまいます。
