重度のたるみは切開しますのでダウンタイムが長くなり、アフターケアが重要な意味を持ちます。腫れや内出血が出ますが、通常2週間程度で収まります。目の下のくまの美容整形を行った後はコンタクトレンズの装着は控え、顔マッサージもしてはいけません。術後1週間腫れが気になるなら冷やすと効果的ですが、この期間を過ぎると冷やし過ぎは血行不良を起こし逆効果です。なお積極的に温める必要はありません。メイクや洗顔の際に顔を強く擦ったり、衝撃を与えないように注意しましょう。
術後1か月を過ぎたら大体元の生活に戻れますが、見た目にはわからなくても、傷が完全に治まるまでは通常半年が目安です。違和感があるうちは無理をしないようにしましょう。
