経結膜的眼窩脂肪移動術は目の下にある眼窩脂肪のふくらみを移動させる手術です。脂肪をふくらみの下のくぼんだ部分に移動させることによって、目の下を平坦な状態にするのです。これによって目の下に影ができないようにする効果があります。これまで目の下にクマがあった人が受けることが多く、ほとんどの場合はクマが綺麗に解消されます。
手術は基本的には下まぶたの裏側から行うので、傷が分からないというメリットがあります。結膜側にメスを入れることになるので、術後はしばらくの間、腫れてしまいます。そのため、ある程度のダウンタイムを見積もっておいた方が良いですが、肌には一切に傷は残りません。数日が経過し腫れが治まりさえすれば、経結膜的眼窩脂肪移動術の手術を受けたとバレることはないと考えて良いでしょう。
また乳房などへの脂肪注入では脂肪の定着率が低いことがありますが、経結膜的眼窩脂肪移動術で移動させた脂肪はほとんど残ります。
高齢者であっても若者が受ける場合と同じような効果

また経結膜的眼窩脂肪移動術は高齢者には効果が薄いと考えている人もいますが、そのようなことはありません。皮膚がたるんでいると脂肪を移動させても上手くいかないというイメージが勘違いの原因です。実際にはまぶたの下のたるみというのは、年齢を重ねてもそれほど大きくなりません。そのため高齢者であっても若者が受ける場合と同じような効果を得られるケースが多いのです。しかし若者より、肌のハリが無くなり柔らかくなっていることは事実です。そういう意味では、裏側から切開することで肌に負担を与えないこの術法は高齢者に向いているといえるでしょう。
