頬リフトはフェイスリフトと同じように、様々な種類があります。
切るリフトアップ方法、糸によって皮膚を引き上げる方法、糸によって皮膚を刺激して肌質を改善する方法、高周波やレーザーなどによる照射系の治療方法、ヒアルロン酸やボトックス注射による注入型の治療方法、などです。
このうち一番効果が高いのは、切るリフトアップです。
頬の皮膚は一番外側が皮膚、その下が皮下組織、表情性筋膜（SMAS）、表情筋、骨膜、骨、という層状の構造になっています。
頬リフトはフェイスリフトやミニリフトなどと呼ばれることもあります。
ただ、頬リフトは西洋人向けで、東洋人に対しては顔の側面から引き上げても効果が出にくく、後戻りしやすいという課題があります。
これを改善させるために、最近では支持靭帯（リガメント）という顔の皮膚を骨に固定している繊維組織を利用した方法も行われています。
頬のたるみ治療に対しては、術式によって期待できる効果が変わります。
一番効果が高いのは切る方法
頬は加齢などの影響でたるんでしまうと、正面から見てとても目立ちます。
目の下、ゴルゴライン、ほうれい線、マリオネットライン、などの顔の代表的なたるみと比べても、老け感を増してしまう部分です。
頬リフトは余分な皮膚を切除して皮膚を持ち上げて固定したり、糸を使って引き上げたり、糸を埋め込んで肌質を改善させるなどの方法がいろいろありますが、一番効果が高いのは切る方法です。
この場合でも効果が続くのは5〜10年ほどで、加齢が止まるわけではないので徐々にしわやたるみはできてしまいます。
皮膚は切除しているので同年代の人に比べれば若い頬の状態になっていますが、頬リフトを受けたばかりの頃に比べるとたるんでしまうので、だんだん満足できなくなることもあるようです。
クリニックのレベルによっても効果の持続性は異なりますから、腕の良いクリニックを選ぶことが大切です。
