ディメンショナルリフトは糸を皮膚の間に通してたるみを引き上げるタイプのリフトアップ法で、皮膚を切開しないで施術ができるので比較的簡単に受けることができて、ベンチタイムが短いので回復が早いので初めてリフトアップに挑戦する人にも人気があります。
切らないので傷跡が残ったり長時間の手術になることがなく、局所麻酔で３０分程度で終了して翌日にはメイクもできるため美容整形をしたことが周囲にばれるのを恐れずに自然なフェイスラインを作ることができます。
糸を使ったスレッドリフトの中では効果が高いことで知られているディメンショナルリフトですが、全くデメリットがないわけではありません。
従来の糸よりも高性能な特別な糸を使用することや、たくさんの本数を使うので施術料金が高めになったり、１か所に集中して大量の糸を通すのでつっぱり感やむくみ、内出血などが生じることもあります。通常は１～２週間で回復しますが術後は安静にすることも必要です。

ディメンショナルリフトは引き上げ力の高いギザギザがたくさんついた糸を使うので、一般的なスレッドリフトよりも効率よくたるみを持ちあげてしっかりキープできて効果が長持ちする特性があります。糸を肌の内部に通すことでその部分にコラーゲンが形成されて自然の力で肌が蘇る効果もあり、より一層たるみ解消につながります。
しかし、切開しない手術法でも針を肌に通すので糸を挿入した部分に痛みを感じたり熱っぽくなったり、炎症や感染症などを引き起こすデメリットもあります。
傷口はほとんど目立ちませんが、最初の数日は皮下出血で斑点のような模様ができてしまったり、糸の入り口がくぼんだり、頭皮の盛り上がりや顔の腫れ、むくみ、頭痛や不快感を訴える人もいますが通常は自然に回復します。ディメンショナルリフトは両側に６本から１０本程度の糸を通すのでつっぱり感や人工的な素材は入っている違和感は避けられず、慣れるまでは不快に思うこともあります。

ディメンショナルリフトの失敗で挿入位置が浅く糸が透けて見えることもあります。
