エックス（Ｘ）トーシスは返しの棘が入った糸を使用して、顔のリフトアップを行う施術のひとつです。皮下に挿入することでたるんだ肌を引き上げる効果があり、特殊な返しとなる棘によって高い張力を生むことができます。頬の引き上げる方向と反対側になる側頭部に糸をかけ、2つをこめかみのあたりでX字のようにクロスさせることで、安定した引き上げ効果を発揮します。このクロスさせる形から文字通りのエックス（Ｘ）トーシスと呼ばれ、従来の糸によるリフトアップより広い範囲で肌を引き上げてくれます。使用する糸は基本的に傷口の縫合などに使用されているもので、内部で溶けて吸収されるので施術後に摘出する必要はありません。吸収されていく過程でヒアルロン酸やコラーゲンの生成を促進させるため、肌の引き締め効果が高いと言われています。具体的な治療効果は、しわやたるみを修正するほか、美容成分の生成が促進されることで美肌への効果も期待できます。
修正の効果は糸が皮膚に吸収されるまで
エックス（Ｘ）トーシスは特殊な糸を使用したリフトアップのため、即時的な効果が期待でき、1ヶ月ほどでやや戻りが見られますがその後は安定して肌を引き上げてくれます。リフトアップによる修正の効果は糸が皮膚に吸収されるまでと言われていて、皮下組織で吸収されるまでに半年～1年未満となっていて、その後もある程度の効果を維持しますが、せいぜい1年と半年程度で肌が戻ってくることになります。そのため、中期的なリフトアップとして利用することができますが、長期的な利用には向いていないことになります。また、エックス（Ｘ）トーシスはSMASやリガメントには直接触れない施術となっているため、根本的なリフトアップにはならず、手で肌を持ち上げているのと大きく変わらないことになります。頬からこめかみ、側頭部までと広い範囲で糸を通すため、傷跡こそ目立つことはありませんが、引き上げ効果がある間は突っ張った感覚を覚えることがあります。また、力加減を間違えて強く引き上げていると、顔のひきつれや頭痛などが起こることもあるので注意が必要です。
