スプリングアプトスは皮膚の下に糸を埋め込んで、たるみを解消する施術の一種です。
皮膚を大きく切開するフェイスリフト手術に比べると、患者の体への負担が小さく、傷跡がほとんど残らない上に、ダウンタイムも短いというメリットがあります。
とはいえドクターの腕によっては、施術後1週間～10日程度は腫れが残り、毛細血管が傷ついた場合は内出血が2～3週間ほど続くリスクもあります。
スプリングアプトスはロシアの医師が開発した新技術です。
糸を使った従来のリフトアップ術は、顔面の筋肉を動かしているうちに糸との摩擦が低下し、やがて効果がなくなってしまう欠点がありました。
スプリングアプトスで使用する糸は、材質は従来と同じポリプロピレンですが、スプリング（バネ）状に巻いているという特徴があります。筋肉の動きに合わせて伸び縮みするため、皮膚と糸とが引っかかって外れにくく、効果が数年から十年以上も長持ちすると言われています。
傷口が開いたり感染症にかかったりするリスク
スプリングアプトスはバネの力で引き上げる効果が高く、口の周りや顎のたるみを修正するには最適と言われています。また首のたるみにも施術が可能です。
表情を大きく動かしても、効果が薄れにくいのは嬉しいポイントです。ただし施術直後は安定しないので、あまり大きく口を開けたりマッサージしたりすることは避けてください。
技術の未熟な医師が施術すると、スプリングアプトスも通常の手術と同じように、傷口が開いたり感染症にかかったりするリスクがあります。また施術部分が引きつる感じや痛みを覚えることもあります。
時間が経過すれば治る場合もありますが、どうしても解消しないようなら糸を抜く必要があります。そのほかリフトアップ効果が弱いとか、逆に強すぎるとか、左右対称でないとかいうトラブルも起こり得ます。
