シルエットリフトは、特殊な構造の糸を、皮膚の下に通して皮下組織を引き上げる美容整形手術で、専用の糸を用いて糸を挿入します。
使用される糸には、円錐系のコーンがついていて、このコーンに皮下組織をひっかけることで、たるみをひきあげ、リフトアップ効果を得ることができます。
シルエットリフトの施術は、糸が埋め込まれたことでついた傷を治そうとする創傷治癒と、糸を異物と判断して排除しようとする免疫反応が起きることで、マクロファージという免疫細胞が、挿入した糸の周辺に集まり、真皮層のコラーゲンやエラスチンを生成する線維目細胞を刺激することで、体内のコラーゲンやヒアルロン酸の増産がすすみ、肌の活性化がすすむことで、弾力性やハリがアップします。
ただ、シルエットリフトに使用する糸には、伸縮性がないため、引きつれや違和感が起こる場合があり、修正手術が必要となることもあるので、その場合には、溶ける糸を使用したり、伸縮性のあるスプリングスレッドを使用することになります。

従来の糸を使用したリフトアップ術は、糸を皮膚の下に通し、脂肪組織に糸の返しや突起をひっかけるようにしてたるみを引き上げていきますが、シルエットリフトは、スレッドリフトの中でもリフトアップ可能な部位が広く、フェザーリストをさらに進化させた方法といえます。
特にシルエットリフトで使用する糸には、コーン型の引っかかりがついていて、これまでにない広範囲でリフト効果を発揮します。このコーンによって、皮下組織を360度リフティングすることができ、このコーンが吸収された後には、糸の結び目の周辺にコラーゲンの増殖が期待できます。
ただ、医師の技術が未熟な場合、表情が不自然になったり、引き上がりが不十分となり、修正手術が必要となる場合があるため、完璧な結果を得るためには、名医の技術が重要なポイントとなります。
