シルエットリフトの一番のデメリットは、何と言っても効果が半永久的に持続するわけではない、ということです。糸に溶ける素材のものを使用した時には、個人差はありますが、だいたい1～2年で効果が薄れてきます。溶けない糸の場合にはそれよりも持続性は高くなりますが、それでも3～4年ほどで効果はなくなります。
