切らないリフトアップとして人気の高い糸を使った施術ですが、中でもシルエットリフトは効果があることで知られています。
シルエットリフトとは、コーンのついた特殊な形状の糸を皮膚の下に通し、コーンに皮下組織を引っかけて引っ張り上げ固定することで、シワやたるみを改善するものです。切開するフェイスリフトには及びませんが、糸を使用した施術の中では持続性があります。
また、糸を皮膚の下に通して皮下組織に軽いダメージを与えることで、免疫細胞の1つであるマクロファージが活性化され、コラーゲンやエラスチンの生成を促します。そのおかげで糸による引き上げ効果だけではなく、美肌効果も期待できるのです。
このようにメリットがたくさんあるシルエットリフトですが、やはりどのような施術にもメリットがあればデメリットがあるように、残念ながら全くデメリット無し、というわけにはいきません。

効果が半永久的に持続するわけではない
メスを使用したフェイスリフトに比べて施術時間が短く、ダウンタイムも軽いシルエットリフトですが、やはり施術を受ける際にはデメリットについても押さえておかなければなりません。
シルエットリフトの一番のデメリットは、何と言っても効果が半永久的に持続するわけではない、ということです。糸に溶ける素材のものを使用した時には、個人差はありますが、だいたい1～2年で効果が薄れてきます。溶けない糸の場合にはそれよりも持続性は高くなりますが、それでも3～4年ほどで効果はなくなります。
また、シルエットリフトに使用される糸には伸縮性がありません。そのため、人によっては引きつれたような感じを持つ人もあります。中には、口を動かしたりする時に違和感を覚えたり、痛みを感じることもあるようです。
気軽に、しかも何度でも受けられ効果も高い、とメリットの多いこの施術ですが、それだけにその数少ないデメリットをきちんと理解したうえで、納得のいく施術を受けたいものです。そうすれば、きっと嬉しい結果を呼び寄せることができるでしょう。

通常は5年ほど効果が持続しますが、糸の固定部分がゆるんだり長さが合っていないなどの理由で効果が得られず、数か月で元に戻ってしまうこともあります。糸が肌の細胞に固定される前に顔を強くマッサージするなどして糸がずれ、引き上げ効果がなくなることもあります。
