リードファインリフトは皮下組織で溶け出す糸を使用したリフトアップのひとつで、針を使って皮膚下に挿入することでSMAS層の引き上げ効果を狙ったものです。極細の糸を数十本単位で気になる部位に挿入することで、肌のハリやたるみを予防または改善することができると言われています。ショッピングリフトとも呼ばれますが、こちらは総称で使用する糸の名称がリードファインリフトとなるので間違いないように注意しましょう。使用する糸は肌を引き上げるために使用するのではなく、しわやたるみが起こった皮膚に格子状に挿入して肌のボリュームアップを目指すものです。リフトアップのひとつとして言われていますが、糸に棘状のものは付いていないため、実際にはどこかを起点にして引っ張り上げているということはしていません。顔などにあらわれるしわは、脂肪やコラーゲンが不足して窪んだ状態であるため、そこに糸を挿入することによって物理的に膨らませます。
深いしわがある人には高い効果が期待
リードファインリフトの手術は、顔を手で持ち上げたような状態で挿入していくため、術後すぐはリフトアップされているように感じますが、糸に棘などがなくフラットな状態のため、すぐにリフトアップが戻るようになります。基本的に肌を持ち上げるというような効果はないので、実質的なリフトアップは期待しない方が良いです。逆に数十本の糸で格子状にすることで肌の窪みをカバーできるため、深いしわがある人には高い効果が期待できます。極細とは言え何十本もの糸を挿入するため、内出血や炎症が起きやすいのがデメリットで、施術をする医者の技術が非常に重要になってきます。リードファインリフトに使用する糸は6～9ヶ月ほどで皮下組織に溶け出すため、すぐに効果が切れると考えられがちです。しかし、組織内でくっついて形成されているので、手術から1～2年ほど持続すると言われます。それでも中期的なもので、長くは続かないことから定期的に手術を受ける必要が出て来ます。
