Qスイッチヤグレーザーは532nmと1064nmの波長のレーザーを利用して、シミやアザ、そばかすなどを消すことができる治療法です。特に今まででは除去するのが不可能だと言われていた、肝斑などの除去も行える点で画期的な方法だと言えます。
532ｎｍの波長のレーザーでは、今まで通りのシミやアザ、そばかすの除去を行うことができます。一方1064nmの波長のレーザーでは、皮膚の奥にあるメラニンの除去が行えることが分かっています。この波長は肝斑に対して有効なのが確認されており、他の波長のレーザーでは除去するのが不可能どころか、逆に肝斑を濃くしてしまうことがありました。
Qスイッチヤグレーザーはメラニンの除去にとても有効な方法ですが、1064nmの波長を利用したレーザーであるロングパルスNd:YAGレーザーと言われるものも基本的には同じもので、こちらは皮膚の真皮中のコラーゲンを活性化させ、ケガや手術の傷痕の修正に利用されています。
２つの可能性
Qスイッチヤグレーザーで万が一失敗した場合、どうするのが良いでしょう？消したくないシミを消してしまったという人はいないと思いますが、失敗してシミが濃くなってしまう場合は修正が必要になります。
まずレーザー光の照射によって、反応性色素沈着が起こってしまった場合が考えられます。これは事前に対策をしておけば、防ぐことができるのですが、起こってしまった場合は適切に処置を行って除去できることが分かっています。基本的には一時的なものなので、放置しておいても問題ありませんが、残ってしまう可能性もあるので、それらの症状が現れた場合は塗り薬によって2週間から4週間ほどでなくなることが分かっています。
他の可能性としては、適切な波長を使用しなかったために色素が濃くなってしまった場合が考えられます。これは肝斑の除去に起こることがあり、これには1064nmのレーザー光でなくては効果はありません。532nmのレーザー光では肝斑が濃くなってしまうことがあるので、この場合は時間を空けて再度Qスイッチヤグレーザーによる治療を行えば治るはずです。
