首やほほ、目元のシミを取るのに使われるQスイッチ・ルビ―レーザーですが、他のレーザーとはどのように違うのかは知らない人が思います。
そもそもQスイッチ・ルビ―レーザーとはルビーレーザーから出る波長の光を、Qスイッチを利用して出力を上げた状態で使用する方法です。ルビーレーザーは694nmの波長を光を発し、この光は酸化ヘモグロビンの吸収率が低く、メラニンでは高く吸収されます。そのためメラニン色素に選択的にダメージを与えて、シミなどを消すことができるメリットがあります。そして正常な部分の細胞になるべく傷を与えずに済むので、治療後の経過も良好なものが多いです。
色の薄いもシミからある程度の濃さを持つものまで比較的広範囲のものに効果があるといわれています。そばかすの治療もでき、茶アザや黒アザなどにも対応してます。さらに、先天的に皮膚に現れる薄青いアザにも有効です。また、タトゥー除去にも用いられることがあります。
シミなどに対してはメリットが多い
シミなどに対してはメリットが多く、万能のように思えるQスイッチ・ルビ―レーザーですが、あまり不得意でないものもあります。
例えば肝斑には逆効果となるといわれています。肝斑とは頬骨のあたりに左右対称にぼんやりとした形で出ることの多いシミで、これにQスイッチ・ルビ―レーザーを当てると、濃くなってしまうことがあり治療には使われることはありません。
治療後は経過にもよりますが、一般的にはかさぶたができます。Qスイッチ・ルビ―レーザーを照射直後は患部は白くなっていますが、30分ほどすると赤い腫れができて、次の日には治っています。そのあとかさぶたができるのですが、このかさぶたは無理にはがしてはいけません。医者の指示に従って、軟膏などを塗って自然に直すように心掛けましょう。
