西洋人だと頬骨が低くて、ネックリフトなどのフェイスリフトをしても張力が顔の正面の部分まで影響しやすいです。
しかし、東洋人は頬骨が高いので張力が及びにくく、顔の正面はリフトアップ整形の空白地と言われています。
日本では効果が出やすいように工夫もされていますが、医師の技術や知識、好みなどで効果が一定でないためリフトアップ手術を受けるときは注意が必要です。
傷跡も名医だとしても目立つことがあり、白いので東洋人だと白肌の西欧人に比べて目立ちやすいです。
切るフェイスリフトだと耳が立ち上がって、耳たぶが伸びたりして変形が起こることもあります。
耳の前の部分や側頭部の毛髪部、髪の生え際を切開してから剥離し、余分な皮膚を切ってから縫合しますが、もみあげの位置がずれてしまうこともあります。
すると、髪の毛が生えているはずの部位に生えてなくて、生えてないところに生えてしまうなどの失敗も起きます。

ネックリフトは切開をするため手術後は腫れと内出血が強く出ることがあります。通常のダウンタイム期間は1週間程度と言われていますが、腫れや内出血が強く出た場合はさらにダウンタイムが伸びる恐れがあります。どうしても痛くて耐えられない場合は痛み止を服用したり患部が感染症になったりしないようにアフターケアをしっかり行うことが大切になってきます。早く腫れを抑えたい場合は冷やす方法もおすすめです。
効果が無い・たるみが取れないと感じることもある
基本的には施術をする前にシミュレーションを行うので効果があることがほとんどですが、ごく稀に効果が無い・たるみが取れないことがあります。これは引き上げすぎると左右非対称になったり違和感が出てしまうことがあるので控えめに施術を行うことが原因の1つだと考えられます。自分にとっては思っていたよりも効果が無い・たるみが取れないと感じることもあるかもしれませんが、実際には変化していることもよくあります。
傷跡が目立つことがある
ネックリフトは傷跡の目立たない髪の毛の生え際や耳の付け根辺りにかけて切開をして広顎筋をしっかりとリフティング固定していきます。そのため傷跡が目立つということはほとんどありませんが、切開をするのでよく見ればわかったり手術直後は赤くなっているのでダウンタイム期間が必要になります。大体の場合は二週間もすれば赤みも消えてきて傷跡も治ってきますが、ずっと傷跡が残ってしまうことがあります。
