ミニリフトとは、顎や口元など、部分的なたるみを解消するため耳の辺りを小さく切開して行うフェイスリフトのことで、顔全体の本格的なフェイスリフトに比べると、傷口が小さく、目立ちにくい、などの特徴があります。また、ダウンタイムも短くて済み、誰にも知られることなく5歳から10歳ほど若返りたいと希望している方にとっては、嬉しい施術の一つです。
施術の方法としては、耳の付け根の髪の毛で隠れる辺りを切開して余った皮膚を切除し、SMAS（表在性筋膜）を上方に引っ張り上げ、縫合する、というものです。ミニリフトという名称がついていますが、メスを使用して切除や縫合をする以上、リスクが全くないわけではありません。もちろん、顔全体の本格的なフェイスリフトに比べれば施術の時間、腫れ等は少なくて済みますが、どのようなリスクがあるのかは、事前に確認しておくことが大切です。

また、耳が大きく見えてしまったりなど、耳の変形が起こることもあります。他には、頬の辺りまではリフトアップ効果があまり感じられないという人も。これは切開部分が小さいため、顔の中央部までは効果が出にくいために起こるのですが、やはり頬の辺りをしっかりとリフトアップしたい方は、ミニリフトではなく、顔全体のフェイスリフトがおすすめです。
