ただ、重度のくぼみの場合は、眼瞼下垂症が疑われるため、埋没法は用いられません。
この場合は、ヒアルロン酸や脂肪を注入する目の上のくぼみの美容整形を行うと、目が開けにくいというような状況が起こるリスクが考えられるため、眼瞼下垂症手術が行われます。
