手術そのものは３時間程度で、１週間後に抜糸を行うのが一般的です。なお縫合場所は抜糸までの間、止血目的でバンドで圧迫を行うケースもあり、そのため帽子などで隠さないと手術をしたことが見た目にも分かることになります。
一方で引っ張りあげる量が大きすぎると不自然な表情になるリスクがありますし反対に引っ張りあげる量が少ないと効果を得られないケースもあります。
