加齢にともなってできやすくなる目の下のたるみを解消する方法はいくつかありますが、その中でも近年注目されているのが「経結膜的眼窩脂肪移動術」と呼ばれる方法です。従来、目の下のたるみについては、下瞼のまつ毛のすぐ下の部分を切開して、膨らんでいる脂肪をくぼんでいる部分に移動させる下眼瞼切開術(ハムラ法)が用いられていましたが、これに対して下瞼の裏側を切開して眼窩脂肪を移動させるのが経結膜的眼窩脂肪移動術で、従来の方法に対して裏ハムラ法と呼ばれることもあります。
ハムラ法と裏ハムラ法はどちらも皮膚が切開されますが、ハムラ法は切開した部分の傷跡が必ず残るのに対して、裏ハムラ法は結膜側を切開するため皮膚の表面に傷が目立つことがありません。これが裏ハムラ法を選択した場合のメリットの一つであり、仕事の関係で化粧で傷を隠すことができない人や、単に顔の表面に傷跡が目立つのが嫌な人の多くがこの方法を選択してたるみの除去を試みています。
ダウンタイムも短くて済むこともメリット
経結膜的眼窩脂肪移動術は表皮側からアプローチをしないため、他の目の下のたるみの解消法と比較して、術後のダウンタイムも短くて済むこともメリットです。手術を受けた後こそ、美容外科から処方された痛み止めを服用したり、冷たいタオルなどをつかって患部を冷やして赤みや痒みが広がるのを防がなければなりませんが、それも1週間ほどでほぼ不要になります。中には腫れがひいても目に突っ張った感じがしばらくの間残るケースもありますが、きちんとアフターケアをしていれば手術から2～3週間程度が経過した時期にはほぼ目が手術前の状態に戻ります。
経結膜的眼窩脂肪移動術は目の下のたるみが酷くならない段階で実施すればメリットが大きいですが、執刀する医師が高い技術を備えていなければ失敗する可能性が高い方法です。このため、経結膜的眼窩脂肪移動術を選択してたるみを解消させたい場合、通院する美容外科を選ぶ際には、在籍している医師の実績の確認が非常に重要です。
