ハムラ法は脂肪を切除するだけではなく、脂肪を凹みに移動し固定するため凹むリスクはありません。膨らんでいる部分を切除し、凹みのある部分は膨らみが出るため段差がなくなり、段差がなくなるため影になっているクマが改善されるのです。さらにたるみの原因となる余った皮膚を同時に切除するため目元のリフトアップ効果を得ることができ、また長期的な効果が期待できるのです。デメリットは、皮膚の表面から切開や皮膚を切除するため、眼の印象が変わってしまう可能性があり、皮膚を切除しすぎて下まぶたが必要以上に引っ張られているような状態になることも否めません。膨らみは解消され凹んだ部分は膨らみますが、小じわなどは解消されることはありません。表面から切開するため傷跡が残ったり、たるみの吊り上げ具合からつり目になることもあります。
