ブローリフトは、眉毛の上の部分を切開したるんだ皮膚を持ち上げて縫合する手術です。この手術により上まぶたのたるみが解消され、まぶたが開きやすくなり、若々しい印象を受ける大きな瞳となります。眉毛の下がった目元は重たげとなり、実年齢よりも年老いた印象を与えるほか、まぶたを無理に持ち上げようとすることで額に力が入り、額の横しわが深く刻まれるという弊害も起きます。ブローリフトはこれらを解消することができ、アンチエイジング効果が非常に高い手術です。また一度手術をすればその効果も半永久的に続くという利点があります。手術時間も局部麻酔を使用して30分程度で終わり、大掛かりな術式とならない点も魅力的です。しかしながらブローリフトに限らず、二重まぶたにする切開法などメスを使った目元の手術に共通して起こりやすいリスクが術後の内出血です。個人の程度の差はありますが、ほとんどの場合に内出血は起こるので、強い内出血が起こらないように丁寧で繊細な手術が必要となります。

ブローリフトの手術は、目元の皮膚を切開して縫合した後、一週間程で抜糸となります。目の手術を行った後3日程は適度に冷やすことで、腫れを早く引かせることができます。氷をビニールに入れ、タオルに包んで1日数回、数分から10分程度冷やします。特にブローリフトの術後翌日頃までは、目の周りが温まることで血行が良くなり、内出血が強く出やすいリスクがあるので注意が必要です。血行が良くなると腫れと内出血が出やすいほか、手術後翌日までは傷口から出血することもあり注意が必要です。従って手術翌日までは湯舟には浸からず、首から下のシャワー程度にすることが無難です。湯舟に浸かるとしてもぬるま湯で体がそれほど温まらない程度の半身浴にとどめます。運動に関しても血行が良くなることで強い腫れや内出血が起こってしまうので、術後丸一日は安静にするようにします。一週間が経過して抜糸した後なら、筋力トレーニングやウォーキングなども徐々に始めることが可能となりますが、痛みや違和感が生じた場合は無理をしないように心がけます。
