ボトックス注入とは、ボツリヌス菌から抽出したタンパク質の一種であるボツリヌストキシンという成分を局所の神経と筋肉の間をブロックすることによって筋肉の収縮を弱める施術になります。
アメリカでは眉間のシワ治療薬として認可されており、安全性や効果などが確立されています。日本でも眉間のシワなどを治療する薬として認可が下りています。
ボトックス注入のメリットはさまざまなものがあり、いろいろな治療として利用されています。比較的安全な施術であるというメリットもあり、継続期間もある程度期待できるため人気の治療です。
しかし、デメリットもあり注入する量や部分を間違えると笑えなかったり、引きつってしまうなどの副作用が出てしまう可能性もあります。
また、副作用ではありませんがボトックスへの抗体ができてしまうと効果がなくなってしまうこともありますが、美容のために使う量ではめったにでないとされています。
施術を受ける場合にはきちんとどのような効果があるのか理解してから施術することが大切です。
メリットはシワの改善
ボトックス注入の具体的なメリットとしては、シワの改善があげられます。眉間や目尻などのシワを作るのは表情筋ですが、この筋肉にボトックス注入を行なうことによって表情ジワが目立たなくなります。
シワだけではなく顔汗を止めるにもボトックスは有効です。神経伝達物質の分泌を抑制する効果があるため汗の多い部分に注入すれば、神経をブロックして汗を減らすことも可能となります。そのため顔だけではなくワキの下や手の平、足の裏などの多汗症の症状が出やすい部分にも効果的だとされています。
この効果からワキガにも効果的です。汗を抑制することによって汗によって増殖する雑菌を増やさないようにすることができ、その効果によって臭いを軽減させることができます。
しかし、注意したいのはボトックスは時間の経過とともに吸収・排出されてしまうことで、効果がずっと継続するわけではなく、約6ヶ月程度で効果がなくなるとされています。
そのため、半年に1回程度は定期的に注入する必要があります。
