スプリングアプトスは、ポリプロピレンという素材からできており糸にはギザギザの加工がされています。そして頬の手術に適しているとされており、頬の脂肪を持ち上げることでブルドッグのようなたるんだ皮膚も解消します。また今までは厳しいと言われていた首のたるみも解消してすっきりとした印象にすることができます。

またヒアルロン酸手術よりも費用が高くダウンタイム期間も長いにも関わらず、効果がでないこともあります。手術直後の顔が腫れていたり赤みがでているときは手術をした感じがあり効果を期待することができますが、いざダウンタイム期間が終わり腫れがひくと思っていたより効果を実感することができない場合もあります。
またその他の失敗としては、肌のひきつり感を感じたり、しびれなどの傷跡や神経の損傷の後遺症が生じたりする可能性があります。後戻り、糸の干渉、皮膚の凸凹などが失敗として考えられます。ダウンタイム期間は2週間程度と気軽に受けることができる手術ではないので、しっかりとスプリングアプトスのデメリットも理解しておきましょう。
