スプリングアプトスとは肌のたるみやシワの改善のための美容整形の方法です。特徴はメスを使用せず、針と特殊な糸だけを使用します。
特殊な糸と言っても外科手術用のものとまったく同じポリプロピレン製の糸です。ただ、コイル状に巻いてあるところが異なっています。
コイル状の糸（「コーン」と呼ばれている円錐状の突起のついた糸）を皮膚に何本も入れて行き、脂肪組織を吊り上げます。
コイルはもとに戻ろうとする性質があるので、コイルを伸ばした状態の糸を入れると元に戻ろうとする復元力によって、皮膚が張ります。
このような「コーン」と呼ばれているコイルの復元力によって肌のたるみやシワが改善するのがスプリングアプトスの興味深いところです。
目の下や頬のたるみが気になっている人に特に効果があります。頬の輪郭がシャープに見えるようになります。その他は、額から眉尻にかけてのたるみ、首のたるみ、口元のたるみやシワなどでも十分な効果が見込めます。
効果が8～12年ほど長期間も持続
どれも今までは、皮膚を切り開いて引き上げる「フェイスリフト」手術が普通の方法でした。
ところが、このスプリングアプトスは顔などにメスを入れず、施術時間は約40分ととても短いです。大きな特徴としては、その効果が8～12年ほど長期間も持続することです。
糸に切れ込みがなく耐久性が高く、コイル状の糸（コーンと呼ばれている糸）は、外科手術の糸と同じく、吸収性の生態分解性ポリマーという素材であるため溶けて吸収されてしまいますし、手術跡は残りません。
しかも、糸の結び目に、周りにコラーゲンやヒアルロン酸エラスチンなどの物質が生成され、弾力性やハリが上昇するといううれしい副作用があります。スプリングアプトスのデメリットとしては、副作用として手術の後、赤い点状の針の跡が残ることです。また若干の腫れもあります。
とはいっても数日のことですし、手術跡は残りません。もちろん糸が安定するまで、手術のあと1カ月位は、顔の筋肉を激しく動かすことは避ける必要があります。
またお値段が若干高く50万近くかかることは覚悟した方がいいでしょう。
