ライムライトとはI.P.L.という光エネルギーを利用した美容マシンで、しみやにきびの治療に用いられます。光エネルギーを顔に当てることで感じる痛みとしては、熱を感じるということが挙げられます。また光エネルギーを利用するため内出血は起こりませんが、リスクとしては腫れや色素沈着が挙げられます。ダウンタイム期間は1週間ほどで、この間には赤みや腫れが出ますが、メイクは治療終了後すぐに可能です。ライムライトで治療を受ける場合にかかる費用の目安は1回あたり約3万円からとなっていますが、平均的な治療回数は3回から10回となるためその分費用も増えます。ライムライトは光エネルギーを利用するため光過敏症である場合は禁忌となる他、妊娠中や授乳中、体調や肌の状態が良くない場合も治療は受けられません。またフェイスリフトで使う金の糸やインプラントを使用している場合には、その部分を避けて施術します。納得の行く治療を受けるためには、安さだけで選ばずに丁寧にカウンセリングをしてくれることやアフターケアがしっかりとしているといったことを重視するようにします。
