Qスイッチヤグレーザーは532nmと1064nmの波長のレーザーを、気になるシミやアザに照射して、沈着している色素を除去するためのレーザー治療法です。
他の方法ではQスイッチルビーレーザーというのもありますが、こちらの方法では694nmの波長を使っており、シミやアザの除去に使用されています。アレクサンドライトレーザーという方法では、シミ、アザの除去のほかに脱毛などにも利用されています。これらの方法と比べ、Qスイッチヤグレーザーは治りが少し早いのが特徴だと言われています。
それというのも、通常の色素沈着の除去は、レーザー照射後メラニンが破壊され、リンパなどの働きによって体外へと排出される過程を経ています。しかし、Qスイッチヤグレーザーでは照射したメラニンは、そのまま蒸発して排出される割合が高く、その分効果が現れるのが早いのではないかと考えられています。
このようにとても便利なレーザー治療法ですが、当然リスクもあります。

Qスイッチヤグレーザーだけに限らず、レーザー治療法全般に言えることですが、皮膚に直接レーザーを照射しているので火傷をするリスクが常にあります。特にQスイッチというのは、光のエネルギーを一時的に貯めて、貯めたエネルギーを短時間で皮膚に照射する方法で、瞬間的に高いエネルギーが皮膚に照射されることになります。レーザーの出力を間違えてしまうと、しばらくは赤く腫れ、水膨れのような症状が出てしまい、そちらの治療に専念することになります。
