古くなった角質層や毛穴に詰まっている老廃物を除去し、新陳代謝を促すことにより良質な皮膚を再生させる手法をピーリングと呼びますが、数あるピーリングの方法の中で美容皮膚科で多く用いられているのが薬剤を用いて行うケミカルピーリングです。マクロピールはこのケミカルピーリングの方法の一つで、サリチル酸マクロゴールと呼ばれる物質を含む薬剤をつかってピーリングを行います。
マクロピールは、従来のグリコール酸をつかった手法と比較すると薬剤を塗布したときの刺激感が少ないため、従来のピーリングでは肌に合わない人であっても安心して施術に臨むことができます。しかし、比較的新しいケミカルピーリングの手法であることから、導入している美容皮膚科の数はまだまだ少なく、施術を受けられる場所が限定されてしまうのがデメリットの一つとして挙げられます。最寄りの美容皮膚科でマクロピールのメニューが無い場合は、他のピーリングの方法を選択しなければなりません。
マクロピールのデメリットとは？
サリチル酸マクロゴールを用いたマクロピールの手法自体にもいくつかのデメリットがあります。
まず、施術を受けた後は一時的に肌が乾燥しやすくなり、外部からの刺激も通常より強く受けやすくなります。これは施術によって、皮膚を刺激から守る働きを持つ角質がすべて剥がし取られてしまうためです。施術前より肌の状態が悪化してしまうことがないように、施術当日はメイクをしたり、洗顔料を使用して顔を洗ったりするのは避け、その後しばらくは保湿や紫外線対策をしっかり行いましょう。
また、マクロピールのような薬剤を用いた施術では、失敗するケースもあることを考慮しておかなければなりません。マクロピールの施術を受けた人の中には、皮膚にできた赤みがおさまらなかったり、腫れて水ぶくれができたりして、余計に肌の状態が酷くなったケースもあります。ピーリングによる皮膚のダメージは数日程度でほとんど改善されますが、1週間以上経っても全くダメージがおさまる気配が無いのであれば、美容皮膚科に行って医師に相談しましょう。
